Prisons come and go. This one went and now is back:
I heard this on NPR yesterday morning. In the middle of an expensive up and coming neighborhood, apparently there are plans to put a correctional facility of some kind. Needless to say the gentrifiers are not happy. Again I bring it all back to the one percent (1%) who if they can’t build up, will put anything they want next to anything or anyone. The area we are talking about is one of the Downtown Brooklyn areas called Gowanus, named after the Gowanus Canal. Polluted and an eyesore, the Gowanus was once known to be a dumping ground for the Mafia to get rid of people they murdered, (true or not it makes for a fun story.) Gowanus is also home to many housing projects and of course artists who have pioneered the area making way for expensive Condo Cancer and now there is talk of an hotel.
What would happen if you drank the water from the Gowanus?
Perhaps it should be bottled and sold as souvenirs.
Ivan is back…
