Well I was finally able to get the heat going again. Now Sandy’s room is cold but hopefully that will be resolved soon. She was so cranky that she decided to take a shower. Turns out they shut the water off for the entire town. So for today we have no water. How long is a mystery. It’s 7 degrees out and hopefully PiPi Fax (that’s the corner cafe) Fortunately there are bottles outside our door of mineral water so we won’t dehydrate. I’ll probably use it to wash as well. It’s a pity because they are having this big reception tonight. I can’t imagine a room filled with un-showered people. And of course the toilets won’t flush. Hopefully this will again resolve itself as soon as possible. They are looking at the heating problem in Sandy’s room now. Turns out they have to call a repair man. Same situation with the Internet. I was assured everything will eventually get on track and this residency will be worth all the week one aggravation. Anyway we are hanging in and hopefully this will all be very comical at some point. Let’s hope. I hear spring is coming soon and life will get better. At least that’s what they tell me.
The main Frau, Frau Sauer will be here later and things should either take on a different direction, or we will have to change plans in terms of work space and exhibition.
In the meantime I am rewriting my synopsis for my presentation and started another drawing. Been doing a lot of meditating in the evening and a little yoga as well. The walk up the hill is also very good exercise. Learning to chill is the key karmic lesson to be learned here.
Heat update: since we had the heat turned up we’ve been using it too much. I suppose it either has to replenish itself. So hopefully we won’t freeze.
So let’s revisit: Supposedly the water will be back on by 2PM. I think something broke in town. The heat will be back in the evening and hopefully their soiree will be a success. Such is life here at Feste Dilsberg. Quite the adventure so far.
Ivan will post again soon…just not today.
