Fine Art And Poetry…

I don’t know who this woman was. She was at the apothecary museum. Interesting painting.

IMG_4126Last weekend starting with Friday was a cultural whirlwind. Here at the Kommendentenhaus they hold bi monthly concerts. Always classical. This Friday they had 2 young people. One had to be 11 and the other no more than 16.  Leon Zimmermann and Marc Lohse. They were amazing. Both piano.

The next night PippiFax was having an art opening and poetry reading. At least I thought I was at a poetry reading because it was all in German and I understood maybe a word here and there. But it was fun and we had rhubarb champagne. That was very good. This is a photo of some guys T-shirt:IMG_4132

And here is part of an exhibition we saw in Mannheim:

IMG_4061IMG_4057They hung small reproductions of the exhibition from the ceiling. Made incredible shadows on the floor. The paintings were good but this added another dimension to it.

Other than this and Julia Philippi Gallery, we are having a hard time locating contemporary art. I think this isn’t the town or place for it. I know there is a contemporary gallery in Saarbrucken. My friend Claudia will be having her opening there on the 20th. So perhaps we will get to see something a bit more current.

Will be back on Saturday for more blogging pleasure. Taking a few days off again.

Stay tuned…
