Home Stretch…

Yes the show is coming up pretty soon. Claudia and I had the idea to place the monitor (flat screen) outside to attract more people. I believe on Wednesday we have another lunch/dinner with the powers that be to discuss this. As always we are met with skepticism  but hopefully the weather will hold up and they will consent to this brilliant idea. I find when working with new media the platforms are often misunderstood. So hopefully they will come around.

Ripped apart another video poem this week:

I think it’s a good way to make enemies as well as establish oneself as a critique of New Media. Motion Poetry has been around for a long time. Most of it I find pretty bad. Sometimes a piece will have elements of brilliance and then it falls short.

After the show which is in a few weeks, I’ll post the project I’m working on here. Did a shit load of work and for the most part, worked everyday. If not everyday, then most. IMG_3922

All in all I will miss my time here. I continue to discover little oddities and as you know the pace is very slow. This has taken me some time to get used to coming from the NY area, where everything has to have been done yesterday. But I’m thankful for the time to have been able to do the work and rework what needed to be done. I also look forward to my friend Claudia’s visit. They respect her tremendously and perhaps she can convince them to put the monitor outside. Sounds silly but if that’s the only aspect of the show that needs attention, then we are OK.

In the meantime the first 3 chapters of Greetings From Karpland are basically done (or for the most part, at least to present) and are now sitting in 4 publishers hands. Hopefully someone will raise an eyebrow and look to publish and help develop it. Seems as if there are a few people out there that have cornered the market. May take a while so again…stay tuned….
