The Cold War and Modern Art…

Abstract Expressionism was used to combat communism? Who knew? I had heard about this theory. So think about it the next time you visit a museum or buy a work of art. If Trump knew this perhaps he would have kept the NEA. Upon having read this article I realized more how much corporate money plays a role in what we see in Museums. One of the backers of The Whitney Biennial is Tiffany. But judging from the content of the Biennial, I wonder if they had much of a say.  Special thanks to Sandra DeSando for sending this to me.

We have a faculty show over at Bloomfield College. It’s a great show and I am very impressed with my colleagues. The show is up until the end of this month. IMG_7105.jpg

On the monitor is the video poem: And The Poster Reads: ACTIVE SHOOTER EVENT and SIT! is on the wall. They gave me a very good spot!!

Anyway, been swamped with school work. Reworking syllabi, etc.

So stay tuned. More to come when things calm down a bit…
