Kathy Griffin made some serious noise this week. Here is another take on it by PADDY JOHNSON AND MICHAEL ANTHONY FARLEY. Found the article in ArtFCity. They make a very good point. Although it may have been a publicity stunt, why was there no mention of the artist/photographer, Tyler Shields who took the picture? We forget how important shock media is to the Hollywood industry. It’s what vitalizes careers.
Went to The Other Art Fair in Greenpoint yesterday sponsored by Saatchi Art. The venue was small enough to see everything and not get exhausted. There were a few artist I thought were really good, but the rest of the show seemed gimmicky. I understand the need to show one’s work and I was told by a few people that this was curated. But the problem I have with most art these days is the fact that it is underdeveloped.
Good news: And The Poster Reads: ACTIVE SHOOTER EVENT got into the Jukeback Poetry Film Festival:
Very cool group show:And I have been included in the Curator’s Choice Show here in Jersey City. Opening: June 17th at Casa Colombo, 380 Monmouth St, Jersey City, NJ. 4-6 PM. I’ll repost.
Special thanks to all those who put up with my continuous posting of my class. Good news is that it’s running.
Saw and heard David Sedaris at The Powerhouse Bookstore in Brooklyn this past week. Not only is he a brilliant writer, but a really sweet guy. He spent a few seconds talking to everyone who was on line to have their book(s) signed. Theft by Finding is his new book. Again, incredibly funny.
Looks like a busy summer is coming up so stay tuned more to come….
