Sci-Fi in the Americas…

Brainard Carey is a relatively new discovery of mine. He hosts a radio showWYBX and has authored books on selling art and cracking the art scene. Brainard is a wonderful source of all kinds of art related info. I found this particular interview with Tyler Stallings very cool.

The Carnegie Deli is closing. No doubt our institutions and landmarks are rapidly going away. This past September New York Central Art Supply closed its doors. It will be interesting to see what replaces these places. I would speculate that in order to pay the rent, we can look forward to a Wall Mart (Mall Art.) What disturbs me is the fact that our urban landscape is becoming homogenize. So we shall see. I hope they keep the neon signs or donate them to the American Sign Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio.

If you have been keeping up with my blogs you will see it’s been a big month. The Jersey City Artist Tour is next weekend. Pin It Up, 180 Grand Street will be part of the tour. If you haven’t seen the show, check it out. Pro Arts is hosting a group show over at 150 Pacific Avenue, Jersey City. Opening this Friday, 10/7, 6-9PM. I’ll be sitting on Sunday if you want to stop by and say hello.

More to come so stay tuned…
